Our history

The topic that I chose is the killing of San Gregorio. This theme topic is inside of the called "Social History". Social History deals with the subjects that the traditional History considers as without importance. This it is a "History from below", where, a popular subject is placed inside the History. This event occurred in 1921, in the region of Antofagasta in the "Cantón de Aguas Blancas"". This fact is part of our history and shows the sad reality that the workers of the salitre saltpetre lived in the north of Chile. After the closing down of the office as a result of the world economic crisis, hundreds of workers became unemployed and the only thing that they asked was a compensation, a right that was denied to them. After the closing of the office the workers refused to abandon the place until they were paid the compensation. an atmosphere of confusion the soldiers of Regimiento Esmeralda killed the workers This event can be analized from different points of view Is one who reconstructs the facts, is my truth between others .That is History. Weekend!!!!!!!!

Last weekend was full of emotions. First, Friday started well. My friends called me to invite me to a party. We went to "Blondie" discotheque, because there was a "Depeche mode special", my favourite band. Only music by Depeche Mode!!!!!!!!!!! We danced all night. I was great!!!!!!!!!!!!! I felt very well because I was with people that share my taste in music, besides they were all very nice.




But, on Saturday everything changed...My mother was very sick, with a headache and a stomachache. She has got an awful disease, but I don't want to talk about this. It Is sad for me to talk about my mom’s disease. I think all the time about the this. My mom is the most important person for me and we have both shared this difficult situation.

I have forgiven Jesus.

My favourite song is "I Have forgiven Jesus" by Morrissey, of from the disk "You are the quarry"(2004). These lyrics mean a lot for to me. They reflect the way I feel now: sad, disappointed, but with hope in these hard moments. I sometimes feel that I'm not able to cope with all the problems. I don't want to hear death knocking on the door of my house. When your life changes at any moment, you don't know what to do no what to think. I sometimes hate my life, or I feel distressed. Other times I feel that I must be strong and t continue with my life. In those moments I ask to God: Why have you abandoned me? I feel that he deserted me, but at the same time I have forgiven him, because I know that only with his help I'll feel better. These lyrics by Morrissey are sarcastic and I like them. Hello, my name is Valeria Navarro. I'm 19 years old. I'm studying History, second year.I went to high school in Santiago. I entered university in 2007. I like music, synth pop. My favourite band is Depeche Mode. I love them. They are amazing, cute, wonderful, everything. Maybe, I'm crazy about them. I make this blog, because my English teacher, Vania Ostoic asked me to.
